Pets of the Week

This week’s Pets of the Week comes from the good folks and the ever-improving facilities of the Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Shelter.

They are always over capacity and always overwhelmed at the shelter in Elizabethton, but it never stops them from giving their all to look after the animals in their care. If you are looking for a new pet, I would definitely suggest paying them a visit before you make any decisions.

• Puppies! The shelter has plenty of canine choices, and a few puppies to choose from at the present time, but these four guys are sitting right inside the door as you enter the adoption center —four six-week-old Bulldog puppies just waiting to go home with a wonderful family. There are three male and one female, and anyone interested in adopting these precious pups must have vet references and be able to pass a welfare check. If you want to raise a great dog, then you have to have a good environment in which to do so. Come visit these guys for yourself!

• Poppy is a one-year-old, female, “mountain cur mix,” meaning she’s a bit of a mutt. One thing you can be sure about with her, though, is that she is adorable and sweet, and a very loving animal. She has seen her puppies adopted away from her, and she’s alone at the shelter right now, so give her a good home and a good life to take her loneliness away. She deserves it.

• Caroline is a one-year-old, spayed, female, domestic short hair. She is a beautiful Calico with a sweet disposition and a laid back attitude, and she wants nothing more than to have a place to call her own. If you get a chance, make that happen.

• Firestone is shockingly white. He has a very white coat, and it couldn’t be more white than it is right now. Snowy. Paper-like. White. He also has a great personality. He is a loving, attentive, two-year-old, male, domestic short hair, and he’d love to be a part of your world. Come visit, and you’ll want to help him in that endeavor.
