Pets of the Week

Jared Bentley • Nov 15, 2018 at 6:59 PM

Fall is definitely in the air and the temperatures are quickly dropping. That means the dogs won’t be quite as hot in their kennels and they might not get out as much - colder temperatures mean fewer volunteers, and the constant rain we’ve experienced means a lot more staying indoors.

So - if you get a chance this week - visit the shelter and spend some time with dogs in need, or make sure they get a good, long stroll around the grounds. They deserve it, and you do, too.

And - as always - make sure your animals come inside at night in order to stay dry an warm. Show them the love they need to see and feel.

This week’s Pets of the Week:

• Sweet Pea is a beautiful, brindle and white, Pit Bull who loves to be around people. She is very active and enjoys playing and running, and would make a wonderful pet for a young, active family looking for companionship. She needs training, and isn’t very good with other dogs or cats, but could be with the right environment. Come pay her a visit!

• Itchy is a handsome boy looking for his forever home. A tri-color hound mix, he has lived with cats and loves people. He is friendly, well-behaved, and ready to play, run, and be a part of your family. Come see Itchy!

• Agate, one of the cats up front with a stone-themed moniker, has a great attitude. A gray tabby with white patches, she is friendly and laid back, and would make a great addition to any family or home. She is curious, but ot pushy, and will not annoy you as you go about your day. She’s the kind of cat who waits until you’re ready, and offers plenty of love when you are.

• Thomas is a big guy, and willing to find a soft spot and chill when you need him to. A three-and-a-half-year-old, dark gray, domestic short hair, he is fun and friendly, and a very sweet, young fella. You should definitely pay him a visit if you’re looking for a cat - Thomas would be a fine choice!
