Today was a good day at the shelter, because I met a handful of people who were there to adopt. And they weren’t just there to adopt, they were excited about being there. Very excited. And that made me feel good. That cut down the sadness factor in a big way, and I know if it made me feel better, then visits from happy people looking for new family members has to have the same effect on the good folks who work there.
And they could use the happiness.
This week’s Pets of the Week:
• Gangsta is not gangsta at all, but he can’t do anything about the name. He’s a very sweet, orange and white Tabby who loves to be held and appreciates any attention he can get. A neutered domestic medium hair, he is very friendly and laid back - and ready to go home with you.
• Mickey and Blue are having a rough time getting comfortable at the shelter, and hopefully they won’t have to get too comfortable before they are able to find a home. Both are adorable, four-month-old, female Beagles, and Blue is the one with one blue eye (of course). They are both very sweet, and very well-behaved, and they deserve a wonderful home (hopefully together).
• Angel is an adult, spayed female who is rooming with her sister Annie at the moment. A gray, black, and brown domestic short hair, she has a beautiful Tabby coat and a sweet disposition, but needs someone to help coax her out of her shell. She and her sister are both a bit hesitant to meet others, but when they do, they’ll make an amazing addition to any family.
• Itachi is a loving, sweet, nine-month-old Pitbull mix who is longing for some attention and a family to call his own. A dark gray, handsome boy, he is happy and active and playful. If you get a chance to spend some time with him, you’ll know exactly why he deserves a good home - it could be yours.
