There is more construction happening at the Carter County animal shelter, as crews continue to work on new cat facilities and an outdoor kennel for dogs. Every time I visit, it seems the staff is doing all they can to improve not only the facility itself, but the conditions under which the animals live daily - it is always good to know, and a welcome sight at each visit.
This week’s visit centered on the cats at the shelter, because the building is chock full of them. There are more cats at the Elizabethton shelter than I believe I have ever seen at one time, and they are in dire need of help finding them homes and families.
If you think you can help in any way, please visit or contact them to make that happen.
You can visit the Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Shelter at 135 Sycamore Shoals Road, Elizabethton, or call them at 423-547-6359.
