There were the die-hard volunteers, who give their time and effort selflessly and often, the staff at the facility, and a handful of people curious to see what’s going on, but I was hoping to see more. More people who can allow the dogs to play, feel love, and be active. Spending your entire day, every day, in a small concrete and metal cell can’t be enjoyable, especially when you’re a dog who yearns to run and play.
And while the cats aren’t looking to run outside, they sure could use some company. Someone to hold them, pet them, and brush them. Someone to take them home.
All these animals need is a chance. A chance to prove to you that your life would be so much more fulfilling with the love of a pet. So visit, volunteer, and hopefully adopt - it might be the best decision you ever make.
