Hubert Roberts

JOHNSON CITY - Hubert Roberts, 97, entered into the loving arms of Jesus during the morning hours of Thursday (April 30, 2020). Hubert was born on October 27, 1922 in Blountville, TN.

Hubert unselfishly served our country during WWII in the United States Air Force and United States Army.

He was a dedicated member of Martindale Baptist Church, where he accepted our Lord Jesus and was baptized. Hubert enjoyed the simplicity of life, he enjoyed traveling, carpentry work, and spending time with his family and friends. Hubert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend; he will be greatly missed.

Hubert was the last surviving sibling of 10. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 55 years, Dorothy Comer Roberts; and son, Leon Roberts.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Amelia “Amy” Roberts; two sons, Ronald Roberts & wife Lynn and Wayne Roberts & wife “Jo”; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends for a drop by visitation on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home (4997 Memorial Blvd Kingsport, TN 37664). Hubert will laid to rest on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at East Tennessee Cemetery (2630 Highway 75 Blountville, TN 37617) with Pastor Delbert Storie officiating. Military rites will be provided by American Legion Posts 3/265.
