He was born June 29, 1938 in Polo, Illinois to the late Earnest & Anna Mae Marks Roberson. He spent his life in Carter County. He was retired from Charter Cable Company as a Technician. He loved to hunt and fish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a very special grandson: Justin Harrison and a brother: Jack Roberson. George attended Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years: Phyllis Hatley Roberson. His Children: Ronnie, Michael, Michelle and Shari Roberson. Two Step-Children: Rachael Baker Harrison & husband Kenneth and Daniel Baker & wife Ranee. Several grandchildren & great grandchildren. Two special Grandsons: Jordan Harrison and Jacob Baker. His Siblings: Bill Roberson, Shirley & Larry, Judy & Allen & Earnestine & Tom. His brothers & sisters-in-law: Bendidetta Widener, Linda Wiseman, Cassie Baker, Steve Hatley & wife Kathy, Robert Mitchell & wife Ruthie and Barbara Anecone.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2020 in the Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Johnson and Pastor Mark Potter officiating. Music will be provided by Mr. Jeff Snyder. Honorary Pallbearers will be his many friends and his church family. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Judy & Victor Deloach and the staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church.
