Bobby “Poppy” Babb

ELIZABETHTON - Bobby “Poppy” Babb 73, Elizabethton, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, January 31, 2020 at his residence.

Born December 11, 1946 in Johnson City to the late Alfred Jr & Maggie Hubbard Babb, he had made his home in Elizabethton. He was a retired Carpenter and Construction worker. Bobby was a member of Zion Baptist Church and the Men’s Sunday School Class. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Babb. He loved working in woodwork.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years: Judy Roberts Babb. Two Sons & Daughters-in-Law: Tony & Lisa Babb and David & Belinda Babb. His Grandchildren: Austin Babb, Makaiyla Babb, and Emma Babb. His brothers: Mike & Lee Babb and Rick & Christy Hubbard. A host of nieces & nephews. A special brother & sister-in-law: David & Nancy Roberts. A special Cousin: David Babb.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Alan King officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2020 in the Lyons Cemetery. Music will be provided by Bruce Hall, Chad Bogart and Larry Leach. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday will be: David Babb, Chad Bogart, Austin Babb, Jon Whitson, Cameron Napier, David Babb, Steven Perry, and Skylar Campbell. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Babb and his church family. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
