Jackie was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Jack and Addie Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunt and uncle that raised him, Lewis and Mae Taylor; two brothers, Terry Taylor and Allen Taylor; and one sister, Patricia Henson.
Jackie retired from the National Linen Company and Alsco Linen Company after 30 years of service. He loved baseball, golf, fishing and NasCar, but most especially, spending time with his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 27 years, Vicky Lynn Taylor, of the home; his children, Misty Dawn Estep (Steve Haynes) of Simpsonville, SC, Joshua Ashley Estep (Jessica Edwards) of Houston, TX and Justin Lee Taylor (Sarah Taylor) of Simpsonville, SC; two adopted children, Jessie Taylor and Christie Taylor; four grandchildren, Brittany Canipe, Carissa “Cricket” Dean, Nevaeh Haynes and Danielle Haynes; and two sisters, Brenda Coleman, of Johnson City and Carolyn Taylor. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Jackie Edward Taylor will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 1, 2020 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Reverend Butch Stout, officiating. Special music will be provided by his sister, Brenda Coleman. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Saturday.
The graveside service will follow in the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Lewis, Jeff Coleman, Lenny Tanner, Steve Haynes, Ronald Coleman and Scotty Leach.
