Lily Ann “Nanny” Lingerfelt

ERWIN - Lily Ann “Nanny” Lingerfelt, age 83, of Erwin, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Johnson City Medical Center.

A native of Erwin, Lily Ann is a daughter of the late Donald Howard and Virginia Lee (Roberts) Jones. She is presently a member of Central Baptist Church and formerly a member of Hulen Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday School Teacher and Assistant Treasurer for many years. She was a graduate of Unicoi County High School, East Tennessee Baptist Hospital and University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Lily Ann was a Registered Nurse at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital. During her tenure there, she served as Supervisor, Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Nursing for a total of 32 years. She was also an instructor of LPN classes from 1975-1977, the School Nurse at Love Chapel Elementary School and the Admissions Nurse for Superior Home Health for 6 years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ivan Lee Lingerfelt; Brother, James Freddie Jones; Sister-in-Law, Dorris Jones; and Brother-in-law, James Bogart.

Brett Avery Lingerfelt, Allie Elisabeth Lingerfelt; Great-grandchildren: Conner Taylor,

Skylar Campbell, Jaxon Campbell, Luke Tolley, Levi Tolley; Sisters: Rebecca Jean (Jones) Peake and husband, Bill, June Marie “Patty” (Jones) Bogart; Special niece: Gina Powell; Several other nieces and nephews; Special friend: “Grandma” Dianna McInturff; Numerous other special friends.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Lily Ann Lingerfelt in a funeral service to be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Central Baptist Church, Erwin. Reverend Larry Wiley will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 12:00 pm and will continue until service time on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Central Baptist Church. A graveside committal service will be follow the service on Saturday, November 9, 2019 in Evergreen Cemetery. Those attending will meet at Central Baptist Church by 2:00 pm Saturday to go in procession. Serving as active pallbearers will be: Nick Lingerfelt, Alan Lingerfelt, Tim McInturff, Dusty Tolley, Danny Lingerfelt, David Lingerfelt, Andrew Lingerfelt and Brett Lingerfelt. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Powell, Josh Peake, Jared Peake, Brad Peake, Tony Hensley, Grady Lingerfelt and the Elders and Deacons of Central Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Lily Ann’s name to Central Baptist Church, 801 Ohio Avenue, Erwin, TN 37650 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
