A native of Rochester, Minnesota, she was a daughter of the late Grant & Gladys Burg Smith. She had lived in Tennessee since 1978. She was retired after 36 years of service from the State of Tennessee Department of Employment Security. She was a member of the Liberty Fellowship, Johnson City and was a former member of Oak Street Baptist Church, Elizabethton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edwin J. “Woody” Woodruff, December 1, 1993 and four brothers and two Great Granddaughters.
Survivors include her children: Michelle Woodruff of the home, Linda Hatcher & husband Steve of Florida, Carolyn Lulicucci & husband Jeff, New Jersey and Henry Woodruff & wife Becky, Johnson City. 8 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. Two Sisters: Jean Stelter of Arkansas and Mary Smith, Rochester, Minnesota. A brother Randy Smith of Arkansas.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dan Foster officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2019 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Music will be provided by Amy Foster Duncan and Henry Woodruff. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of her son, Henry Woodruff. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Kelly Whitten and Lin Care of Johnson City, Dr. Jeff Farrow and the staff of East Tennessee Pulmonary Associates.
