Prior to his illness he was employed by McKinney Insurance Agency and Express Courier. He was a member of the Spoken Word Fellowship. David was preceded in death by two sons: Aaron and Elijah McKinney and his father, Douglas McKinney.
Survivors include his son: Matthew McKinney, his Mother: Yvonne Gouge McKinney, a brother Bryan and wife Tammy McKinney. His Grandchildren: Gage McKinney and Emma Mae McKinney. His niece: Hannah McKinney and nephew: Joshua McKinney.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Richard Wilson officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 7, 2019 in Rose lawn Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Thursday will be: Matthew McKinney, Joshua McKinney, Bryan McKinney, Michael Hubbard, Mark Hubbard, Harold Greene, Fred Britt and Todd Davis. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Dr. Cynthia Partain, Dr. Jeffrey Schoondyke, Dr. Jeff Farrow, the staff of 2900 Wing, Johnson City Medical Center, also special thanks to Missy Honeycutt his care giver. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the home of Bryan & Tammy McKinney.
