Jimmy graduated from Science Hill High School, being a colonel in the ROTC program. At the age of 18 he joined the Navy from July 1943 to February 1946. When he returned from the Navy, he went to the University of Tennessee to become a civil engineer.
In 1953, Jimmy dedicated the rest of his life to making Jehovah God’s name, wonderous qualities and promises unknown to everyone he could. Jimmy was a longtime, faithful, and loved member of the Jonesborough Olde Towne Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his precious wife Mary, his parents: William Frank & Leila Gertrude Morris, his brother: William Frank Morris Jr, His sister: Juanita Ester Gregg. Jimmy is survived by family in the greater Johnson City area. His daughter: Rebecca Janine Carpenter, Granddaughter: Tema J. Carpenter and her children Andre & Jasmine, nephew: Timmy C. Morris and son. Also survived by son: Michael B. and Gayle Gregg, Kelly and family. Son: James Patrick Gregg, James P. Gregg Jr and wife Jennene, Diana and Alan White, Jana Justice, Devin and his family, Timothy Gregg, Amber Gregg, and her family.
A memorial service for Jimmy Calvin Morris will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at 2:00 pm in the Jonesborough Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 105 Parsons Cir, Jonesborough, TN.
