James H. Snyder (Jim)

JONESBOROUGH - James H. Snyder (Jim), 76, of Jonesborough, TN, died peacefully on October 14, 2019, following complications from cancer. 

Jim was born on August 28, 1943, in Toledo, OH. He enjoyed a successful 40 year career in the hardware fastener business.  As Vice President of Sales for two national hardware companies, Jim contributed his success to his love of the customer.  Jim was a scratch golfer, a master pool player, and a pilot who earned both his private and commercial licenses.  He loved sports and was always ready for a game, although his love of family was his greatest passion. 

Preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ruth Snyder, Jim is survived by his wife, Jeannie, the love of his life of 35 years, and four children, Christine Snyder, Covington, LA; Robert Snyder (Karen) Belvidere, IL; Matthew Snyder (Brooke) Morristown, TN; Michael Snyder (Farrah) Jonesborough, TN; two grandsons, Robert and Max Snyder Belvidere, IL.  Jim is also survived by his brother, David Snyder (Carolee) Hartford City, IN; sisters, Laura Lee Handel (Ben) Wilmington, NC; and Julie Katte (Jim) Sturgeon Bay, WI. 

Jim’s body was donated to the Quillen College of Medicine.  The memorial service will be held on November 2, 2019, at 3:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church located at 2211 East Lakeview Dr. Johnson City, TN.  Reception will follow from 4:00-6:00 at St. Mary’s School Gym.
