Martha was born in Johnson City, Tennessee to the late Everett and Bessie Whitaker McKee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny McKee and David McKee.
Martha had worked in the cafeteria at Bluff City Middle School and was a devoted member of New Hope Church of Christ. She loved taking care of her grandchildren, was a very loving mother and grandmother and was known as an extremely giving person, always thinking and caring for others.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 51 years, Robert Morris, of the home; two sons, Allen Morris and wife Cecilia, of Piney Flats and Brian Morris (girlfriend-Sherri Peters, Findlay, OH), also of Piney Flats; a special daughter, Tammie Morris, of Kingsport; three grandchildren, Emily Morris, of Kingsport, Nicholas Morris, of Piney Flats, and Grace Thacker, of Kingsport; and her siblings, Nancy Peterson, of Boones Creek, Robert McKee, of Piney Flats and Danny McKee.
A service to celebrate the life of Martha Lorene Morris will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Monday, October 14, 2019 in the Bluff City Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Mr. Paul Peer, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Monday.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 in the New Bethel Cemetery, 592 New Bethel Road, Piney Flats. Active pallbearers will be Marvin Johnson, Scott Morris, James Ramsey, Spike Good, Terry Whitaker and Tim Thacker. Honorary pallbearers will be members of New Hope Church of Christ. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM on Tuesday.
