Effie was born to the late Coy and Eliza McKnight in Bonnie Blue Virginia.
She was the proud owner of the Crystal Fountain Restaurant beginning in the 1960’s, at time when not many women were business owners. She was a very strong woman who believed in empowering other women. Effie enjoyed Indian crafting, mountain crafting, quilting and ring collecting.
In addition to her parents Effie was preceded in death by her husband; Holly Gilliam grandson; Blaine Anthony Templeton Suiter, sisters; Beatrice Huff and Edith Bowman, brother; David McKnight, and son-in-law Rev. Blaine Suiter.
Effie is survived by her daughter; Patricia Blanton- Suiter, grandchildren; Ashlie and husband Jeremy Woods, Sarah Eliza Mae Suiter, great-grandchildren; Madison Suiter, Katie Perkins, Jerimiah Woods, and Azalea Mya, sister; Ann Mullins, brothers; Bev and Bobby McKnight, special nieces; Vicki Huff, and Myra Bowman Fields, special nephews; Mike and Scott Huff along with many other nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Effie’s life will be held at a later date.
