Bill L. Arrowood

UNICOI - Bill L. Arrowood, age 81 of Unicoi, Tennessee, passed away on September 7, 2019 at the Johnson City Medical Center, due to a lengthy illness. Bill was a veteran of the United States Airforce, serving in Minot, North Dakota. He and his father worked as home builders and after his dads passing, he worked for and retired from Lowes of Johnson City, Tennessee.

Bill was a loving husband and father. He was the son of the late Lloyd and Ella Mae Arrowood. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Lloyd Arrowood and Ted Arrowood. Bill was also a member of the Unicoi Free Will Baptist Church.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Peggy Moyers Arrowood; His daughters: Ellen Ray (Robbie) and Leigh Ann Bricker (Daniel); Grandchildren: Daniel Ray, Rebecca Ray and Claire Bricker; His brother, J.L. Arrowood (Bobbie); Special nephews: Dr. Lloyd F. Arrowood and Andy Arrowood and many other special nieces and nephews; Loving companions, Schwartz and Crissi.

A private graveside service will be held at the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Rev. Thurman L. Sullivan officiating.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the nurses and doctors on the second floor unit of the Johnson City Medical Center as well as the VA Hospital of Johnson City for their care and compassion given to Bill. A special “Thank You” to nurses Sheri, Michelle and Dr. Hamati of Oncology.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Dawn of Hope in Johnson City, Tennessee or Saint Judes Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
