Marie is a daughter of the late Robert and Rebecca (Jones) Lyle. She was a member of Fishery Community Church where she was previously the choir leader. She loved to read and enjoyed cooking. In addition to her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Richard Ellis Whaley; brothers: Jack, Sye, Gene, Ned, Frank and Leno Lyle; and sisters: Ruth Moyers, Kate Whitson and Grace Lyle.
Marie Elizabeth Whaley leaves behind to cherish her memory: Daughters: Debbie Owens, Pamela Robinette and husband, Robby; Brother: Elwood Lyle and wife, Brenda; Grandchildren: Jason Owens and wife, Sarah, Heather Ebernickel and husband, Adam, Ginger Matson and husband, James; Great-grandchildren: Nicholas Owens, Bailey Owens, Caitlin Ebernickel and fiancé, Colton, Alex Ebernickel, Isaiah Ebernickel, Zechariah Matson, Benjamin Matson; Several nieces and nephews.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Marie Elizabeth Whaley in a graveside committal service to be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 in Evergreen Cemetery. Bishop Eddie Blazer and Pastor Art Gibson will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by Gil Moody. Those attending will meet at Evergreen Cemetery by 11:20 am on Tuesday for the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donation to be made at Clinchfield Federal Credit Union to help with Marie’s final expenses.
