He was born to the late Clarence Hensley and Edna Whitt Cunningham. Edward was of the Baptist faith. He served his nation in the United States Marines in the Vietnam Conflict and was a proud member of Disabled American Veterans. He was a retired truck driver and spent some time in the Virginia coal mines.
Edward is survived by his children; Eddie (Dawna), Kevin, Keith, David (Valerie), Jason (Amy), and Rebecca Hensley, special friend; Flora McCoy, sisters; Larcia Martin, Patty (Bob) Conner, Cindy Aulisio, Ruthie Jaworski, grandchildren; Tyler, Hannah, Benjamin, Isabella, Amelia, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Hensley family will gather to greet friends and share memories on Sunday September 8, 2019 from 5pm-7pm at Tetrick Funeral Services in Johnson City. A funeral Service will follow at 7pm with Dr. Lester Morelock officiating. The Hensley family will reassemble for a Graveside Service at Mountain Home National Cemetery Monday September 9, 2019 at 1:45pm. Everyone who wishes to attend the Graveside Service is asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:40pm.
