Samuel Lawrence Hodge

JOHNSON CITY - Samuel Lawrence Hodge, better known as Larry, age 58 of Johnson City, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at his home, after he fought a courageous, extended battle with colon cancer.

He was the son of Sam Hodge and Viva Lee Cox Heck, born to them on April 21, 1961 in Cleveland, Ohio. Larry loved spending time with his family, especially his three grandchildren. He always enjoyed new experiences and recently taught himself to play guitar. He took pleasure in spending time outdoors in the mountains or at the beach and traveling to see new places. A loving and happy individual, he was known for his sense of humor and the ability to make anyone feel welcome.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Hodge; Two Children: Whitney Evely (Ben) and Aaron Hodge (Marika); Three special grandchildren: Aidyn, Brett and Caroline: His sisters: Melodye Revell and Margo Hodge; His life-long friend, Jim Rogers. Larry is also survived by a host of many relatives and friends left behind to cherish his memory.

A memorial service to commemorate Larry’s life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 6:00 P.M. at the Love Chapel Elementary School in Erwin, Tennessee with Ben Evely and Cliff Sliger officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Love Chapel Christian Church Building Fund in loving memory of Larry.
