Deborah (Debbie) Joan Baker Woods

JOHNSON CITY - Mrs. Deborah Joan Baker Woods of Johnson City passed away peacefully at her daughter’s residence on Monday September 2, 2019 at the age of 63 after a long battle with cancer.

She was the daughter of the late Woodrow W Baker and the late Mary Wanda Baker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Lester J.R. Woods, one great grandson Phoenix Ray Woods, three brothers Marvin Eugene Baker, Larry Baker, Wayne Baker, one sister Mary Ann Peterson, and three sisters-in-law Nancy Woods Rowell, Rosie Baker, and Jenny Baker.

She was a graduate of David Crockett High School and East Tennessee State University where she received a degree as a Laboratory Technician. She was employed for many years at Johnson City Internal Medicine. She attended Crossroads Church.

Those left to cherish her memories are two sons, Malcolm Woods, Jason Woods and wife Robin Woods, one daughter, Chrystl Willis and husband Daniel Willis, Jr, five grandchildren, Tyler Woods and girlfriend Tasha Caudill, Cody Meade and fiancé Bailey Hochhalter, Brittney Duvall and fiancé Conner Britt, Caitlin Duvall and fiancé Wesley Payer, and Chasity Fowler and fiancé John Adkins, four great-grandchildren, Asher Meade, Corbin Meade, Braxton Payer and Kayson Britt, one sister at heart Ruth Woods Koski, one brother Louis Baker, one sister Brenda Jones and husband Dan, and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Life will be held on Friday September 6, 2019 with receiving of friends from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm with a service to follow at Crossroads Church at 123 Fairgrounds Circle Greeneville, TN 37745 with Pastor David Dugger to officiate.

The family would like to thank Caris for their service and compassion with special thanks to Kimberly, August and Justin.
