He was a native of Johnson City and son of the late Clifton Ray Crum and Thelma Mae Godsey Puttman.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank, Wade, Alfred, and George; daughter, Sarah Johnson; grandson, Billy Jack Crum; great-granddaughters, Krystiana Crum, and Jada Brook Crum.
Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
Those left to cherish Bill’s memory include his loving wife of 58 years, Jean Branch Crum; children, Ruby Jones (David), Charlie Crum (Lisa), and Billy Crum (Lisa); brothers, Freddie Crum and Eddie Crum (Betty); sister Nancy Davis; grandchildren, Angela (Anthony), Justin, Bryan (Bailey), Robert, Chris (Dana), Miranda, and Jessica. 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Bill also leaves behind a very special friend, Dottie Woodby.
A special thank you to Mr. Kourtis for the countless hours of visitation, and also Lake Bridge Nurses for always showing love to Bill.
The family will greet friends to share memories on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 beginning at 5:00pm until a Celebration of Bill’s life at 7:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City with Mr. Steven Kourtis officiating. Music will be provided by his granddaughter and great-granddaughter, Angela and Ariaya. A Graveside service will be held at a later date, with Mr. Anthony Jackson officiating. Pallbearers will be Charlie, Bryan, Justin, Robert, Brandon, Marc,; honorary pallbearers will be David Jones, Anthony Jackson. Family and friends may also gather at any time until 8:30pm at the home of his daughter, Ruby Jones, 307 Holly Street, Johnson City, TN.
