Bobby Glade Gott

Bobby Glade Gott entered the gates of heaven on Saturday, June 8, 2019.

He was born on May 13, 1936 in Kingsport, TN to Ray L. Gott & Lola A. Goins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Timmy Lee Gott; and his brother, Hubert Gott.

Left to cherish Bobby’s memory are his adoring wife of almost 65 years, Geraldine Culpepper Gott; his beloved son, Ricky (Debra) Gott of Erwin, TN; grandchildren, Nicole (Patrick) Leverton of Knoxville, TN, Meagan (Justin) Chadwell of Travelers Rest, SC, Lucas Williams, and Ethan (Alexandria) Williams of the 82nd Airborne in Ft. Bragg, NC; six great-grandchildren, Brileigh Williams, Landon Chadwell, Collin Chadwell, Camden Williams, Charleston Leverton, and Kendyl Chadwell; his brothers, Harold (Ileen) Gott, Bill (Nadine) Gott, and Gerald (Sharyl) Gott; aunt, Fern Goins Quillen; sister-in-law, Sherry (Nick) Caine; and many nieces and nephews.

He was a long-time member of Westview Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, sang in the choir, drove the church van, and was active in the AWANA program.

Bobby retired from Eastman Chemical in 1995 after more than 25 years of service. He coached in the Pee Wee football program, officiated both area high school basketball games and Eastman recreation league basketball games. He also operated a dry goods business for many years until his retirement.

The family will receive friends at West View Missionary Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 11, from 5 to 7 PM. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 7 PM with Pastor Mike Stout officiating. Graveside service will be held at East Lawn Memorial Park on Wednesday, June 12, at 10 AM .

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The AWANA program at West View Missionary Baptist Church, 1037 Fairview Ave., Kingsport TN 37660.
