He was born October 12, 1944 in Kayford, West Virginia to the late Willie & Juanita Garrett Sexton. He had lived in Carter County for several years. He served in the Army during the Vietnam Era, received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He retired from the Elk Run Coal Company after 20 years of employment. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son Jimmy Sexton, Brother Jack Sexton and his sisters: Mary, Shelby, Buck, Kay, Sharon and Penny and a grandson Zack Davis. His hobbies including fishing, hunting, working on cars and a master carpenter.
Survivors include his wife: Kathy, brother: Bill (Edna) Sexton and sister: Wanda Fraker; his sons: Rocky Sexton and Randy (Kim) Sexton, daughter: Kim (Aaron) Jamerson, his step-daughters: Tammy (John) Gordon and Amy (Steve) Massey. His Grandchildren: Matthew Sexton, Ashlyn Pankonie, Sydney Sexton, Kaylee Woodard, Madison Sexton, Nora Jamerson and Katherin Carney and two great-grandsons: Kai Sexton and Jack Woodard.
In keeping with his wishes, Larry will be cremated and there will be no services.
