Charles Lewis “Charlie” Noakes, Sr.

ERWIN - Charles Lewis “Charlie” Noakes, Sr., age 83, of Erwin, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019, at his home.

A native of Washington, DC, Charlie is a son of the late Charles Henry and Alma Amelia (Acres) Noakes. He was an Electrical Contractor and a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He loved the Bible and loved to question pastors. In addition to his parents, Charlie is preceded in death by his sister, Delores Phillips and his brother, Ronald Noakes.

Charlie leaves behind to cherish his memory: Wife: Salina Marie (Hayslett) Noakes; Five Children; Four grandchildren; Three great-grandchildren; Two sisters; Several nieces and nephews

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Charlie in a funeral service to be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Reverend David Crutchfield will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 and will continue until service time in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside committal service will be held at Mountain Home National Cemetery following the service on Wednesday. Those attending will meet at Valley Funeral Home by 1:00 PM for the service and go in procession. Pallbearers will be: Chuck Noakes, Matthew Noakes, Daryl Noakes, Gary Noakes and Larry Wayne Branham.
