Froylan “Froy” Hernandez

JOHNSON CITY - Froylan “Froy” Hernandez, age 76, Johnson City, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 6, 2019 in the Johnson City Medical Center.

Born November 2, 1942 in El Paso, Texas to the late Jesus & Maria Ramona Sanchez Hernandez. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Hernandez and brothers: Reynaldo and Claudio Hernandez.

Before his retirement, he was employed by the United States Truck Driving School in Rialto, California as an instructor. He loved teaching students to become skillful truck drivers.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife: Suzette “Suzie” Gentry Hernandez: Sister: Rosa Dailey and brothers Eduardo, Reynaldo II, Federico Hernandez; Children: Froy Jr., Christopher, Eutiquio, Christian K. Hernandez and Amanda Yorg: Sister-In-Law: Debbie Williams & Charles: Nieces: Jennifer McNeill and Kelly Rupard: Nephew: Paul Robinson and Heidi: One special Great niece: Katelyn “Katie Bug” Cohen and a close family friend: Martha Courtner.

He was a member of Butler Baptist Church where he was active in various ministries and was willing to help in any area when called upon. He loved his pastor, pastor’s wife and congregation. He prepared the weekly church bulletin and any other program materials that were needed especially for the church choir. Froy also served as Secretary for the Butler Memorial Cemetery.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday, April 13, 2019 in the Butler Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniel Wood officiating. Music will be provided by Debbie Williams, Pianist. In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made in Froy’s memory to the Butler Baptist Church, P.O. Box 96, Butler, Tenn. 37640.
