James Franklin “Frank” Jessie, 89, formerly of Jonesborough, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at NHC Health Care Center of Johnson City. He was born in Claiborne County and was the son of the late Loyd and Hallie Jessie.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brothers: Hueston, William “Bud”, and George Jessie; sisters: Ethel Jessie, Minnie Hunley, Viola Carey, and Mary Edna Jessie; granddaughters: Elizabeth Rae Coggins, and Holly Renae Proffitt.
Frank worked in the trucking industry for several companies and retired after driving for over forty six years.
Those left to cherish Frank’s memory include his sons: James C. and daughter-in-law Trina Jessie, Richard Jessie; daughters: Sandra Coggins, and Lisa Church; grandchildren: Shelley Coggins, Jaime Dmytruk (Kirt), Aaron Proffitt (Whitney), Brian Jessie (Christie), Chad Jessie (Violet), Brandon Church (Rebecca), and Danielle Coggins; great-grandchildren: Brooklyn and Carson Dmytruk, Kira and Cayden Jessie, Daegon Lamb, and Kennedy Grace Proffitt, (expecting another great-grandchild, Karlie Joana-Rae Jessie; brother, Wade Jessie, several nieces and nephews, and two very special friends: George Harrison and Donna Wilson..
The family will gather to greet friends and share memories on Monday, April 8, 2019 from 5:00 pm until a Celebration of Frank’s life at 7:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services Johnson City with Pastor Lenny Smith and Pastor Delbert Storie officiating. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday at Washington County Memory Gardens. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers along with Kirt Dmytruk, and Chad Harvey. Honorary pallbearer will be Richard Jessie. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 am on Tuesday.
