Walter Wayne Daggett

BRIDGEWATER, VA - Walter Wayne Daggett, 86, of Bridgewater, died on March 10, 2019, at the Bridgewater Retirement Community. He was born October 26, 1932, in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, to Wayne Nicholson Daggett and Evelyn Stetson Daggett. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Linda Diehl Daggett, and his stepmother, Elizabeth Loeffler Daggett.

Walt is survived by his wife, Ann Garst Daggett, a son, Kevin (Joan) Daggett, a daughter, Laura Daggett Dodd, and a son, Jeryl (Sondra) Rowe. He was blessed with seven granddaughters: Faith Daggett, Katelyn Daggett, Candice Dodd, Elizabeth Rowe, Emily Daggett, Lydia Dodd, Katherine Rowe.

Walt graduated from Bangor High School, Bangor Theological Seminary, Bridgewater College and Old Dominion University. He pastored the Hopewell Church of the Brethren for three years. He then received his Teaching Certificate from ODU and taught Industrial Arts at John Marshall H.S., Hopewell H.S. and Broadway H.S. for a total of 26 years.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 17, 2019, with Pastor Jeff Carr officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bridgewater Church of the Brethren, 420 College View Drive, Bridgewater, VA, 22812, or Brethren Woods Camp and Retreat Center, 4896 Armentrout Path, Keezletown, VA, 22832.
