Roy “Dan” Rash

ELIZABETHTON - Roy “Dan” Rash, age 59, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 4, 2019 at his residence.

Roy was born in Carter County, Tennessee to the late William Roy Rash and Leota Walker Rash. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ron W. Rash.

Dan had worked as a technician for Duncan Gas and then for Heritage Propane for almost 30 years. He was baptized at Pleasant Beach Baptist Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Roan Mountain and the Moose Lodge. Dan loved long rides through the mountains and watching movies. His favorite show was Andy Griffith and he was always known to be a happy person.

Those left to cherish his memory include the love of his life and best friend, Samantha Hilton, of the home; one sister, Linda Lowe and husband Bennie, of Johnson City; and an uncle, Hugh Walker, of the Neva Community of Mountain City; a special cousin, Judy Wilson of Johnson County, many other special cousins that he loved very much and the entire Hilton family.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Friday.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to the Shriner’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
