She was born July 28, 1932 in New Canton, Tennessee and is the daughter of the late Sally Lyons Bond. She is preceded in death by daughter Shelia Diane Jenkins, sisters Helen Diehl Sheppard and Cornelia Bond, brothers, Archie Diehl, James Bond, George Bond, and Harless Bond.
Alma, affectionately known to friend and family as Scootie leaves to appreciate her testimony of a Christian woman and celebrate her reward of Heaven her husband of 67 years, Montreal (Bounce) Brown, daughters, Joan Harris (Wayne) and Pamela Daniels (Bentley), and son-in-law Troy Jenkins. (Andy), Dereth Lewis (Michael), Carlos Daniels (Rebecca), Ashley Miller (Michael), and Adrian Mackey. Great grandchildren, Adarius Banner, Jerriah Love and Carson Daniels, Adam Daniels, Miaka, Madden and Mathias Miller, Myla and Drake Lewis, Nekiesha, Elijah and Quentin Vulcan and a precious family friend Wilma Jenkins.
Alma (Scootie) was a member of Bethel Christian where she served as a history maker and served faithfully over the years until the decline of her health. She immersed herself in her community as an advocate with the Upper East Tennessee Human Development Agency where she served for several years. Her hobbies were ceramics, gardening and flower arranging.
The family would like to express how blessed they have been by the overwhelming displays of love and prayer experienced from the community. And the family would like to especially thank the staff of Four Oaks Health Care Center for their loving care and comfort for the family.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm Friday September 14, 2018 at Bethel Christian Church in Jonesborough, TN. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow at New Victory Cemetery in Jonesborough.
