Barbara Bunton Robinette

JONESBOROUGH - Barbara Bunton Robinette, 72, of Jonesborough, went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, August 28, 2018.

She was the daughter of Birdie Bunton and the late Roy Bunton. She was born in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Barbara was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She was strong in her faith to the Lord and a loyal friend to many. She was greatly cherished and will be remembered for her strength, love, and kindness.

Barbara graduated from Jonesborough High School and East Tennessee State University. She was a retired school teacher in the Johnson City School System where she taught at Science Hill High School, Liberty Bell Middle School, and Indian Trail Intermediate School for a combined thirty years. She loved to spend time with family and cherished her two grandchildren. She was a member of Embreeville United Methodist Church and was married to her beloved, Ken, for fifty-three years.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Kenneth Marvin Robinette, Jr., her mother Birdie Mae Bunton, her children Corintha and Kevin Hartman, of Jonesborough, Heather and Gary Starnes of Embreeville, brother Roger and Lori Bunton of Raleigh, North Carolina, sister Frieda Bunton of Johnson City, her grandchildren, Colin Lambert and Grayson Starnes, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Tetrick Funeral Services, 3001 Peoples St., Johnson City, Tennessee, 37604, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Charles Weatherly officiating. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park.

In Lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
