Virginia attended Greeneville First Freewill Baptist Church, where she was active in many activities. She was retired from Siemens and Texas Instruments.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Fay Mitchell; sons and daughters in law, Danny and Diana Mitchell, of Johnson City, Ronnie and Sheila Mitchell; grandsons, Stephen Mitchell and Michael Mitchell, of Telford, Ray Rainwater, of Bakersfield, CA; sister, Ruth Norton, of Greeneville; brother, Jimmy Arrowood, of Pine Bluff, AR; several nieces, nephews, brothers in law and sisters in law; special friends, Vickie Mull, and Betty Byrd.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Birtsy Arrowood; brothers, Otis Arrowood, Ray Arrowood, Gleea Arrowood, Jessie Arrowood, Henry Arrowood; sisters, Kathleen Austin, Blaine Corby, Georgia Jaynes, and Mildred Murdock.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to her sister, Ruth for her special care during her illness.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 4-7pm at Jeffers Funeral Chapel at Afton. The funeral service will follow visitation at 7pm in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Roger Ealey and Rev. Larry McElroy officiating. The graveside service will be held Thursday, at 11am at Graceland Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Stephen Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Dwight Mitchell, JD Mitchell, Charles Byrd, Rick Mull, Gary Norton, and Kyle Moore.
