He was born in Southwest Virginia on December 14, 1937 to the late Arch Robinson, Sr. and Elsie Chapman Robinson.
Arch was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves. A hard working man, Arch owned and operated Arch’s Tire Shop in Johnson City, TN for over 30 years. His hobby was also his career and love, recapping tires. He enjoyed western movies, most notably The Outlaw Josey Wales and the TV show Gunsmoke.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Vivian Robinson; son, Jerry Robinson and wife Marlene; daughter, Denise Robinson and husband Roy Skidmore.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 7:00 PM. The committal and interment will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Glenwood Cemetery in Bristol, TN. Honorary pallbearers will be Lonnie Glass, Dayton “Redman” Paul Souder, Bill Crusenberry, Kenneth Ratliff, Mike Campbell, Hunter Gillette and all of his many friends from his tire shop.
