William Ray Moffitt

ELIZABETHTON - William Ray Moffitt, 66, of Elizabethton passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

Born April 5, 1952 in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was a son of the late Fred & Georgia Hern Moffitt. He had lived a number of years in Tennessee. He was a retired Tree Trimer and a former employee of American Limestone as a driller. He loved to fish & hunt. He was preceded in death by four brothers & one sister.

Survivors include his children: Paula Moffitt & wife Lisa Moffitt and Rebecca Lovell & husband Danny, all of Elizabethton and William Moffitt, Jr. & wife Lori, Greeneville, Tenn. Four Grandchildren: Samantha Holt, and Raven Moffitt both of Greeneville, Kaleb Hardin and Kristen Robinson both of Elizabethton. Three Great Grandchildren: Addison Moffitt, Arayiah Holt and Jake Moffitt. The mother of his children: Cathy Moffitt. Two Brothers: Rob and Roy Moffitt. Two Sisters: Jeanette and Carrie Ward.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018 in the Scalf Cemetery, Watauga with Pastor Bud Malone and Father Timothy Holder officiating. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the Staff of ICU Sycamore Shoals Hospital. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Active Pallbearers will be: Kaleb Hardin, Landon Garland, Tony Moffitt, Rob Moffitt, Dylan Moffitt and Elex Moffitt. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of his daughter: Paula Moffitt, 704 4th Street, Elizabethton.
