A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Albert & Liddie Carver Morton. She was retired from Appalachian Christian Village. She was of the Free Will Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Robert (Bob) Morton, Sam Morton and Vester Morton and one sister: Tennie Mercer.
Survivors include her children: Thelma Milhorn & husband Gary, Jonesborough, Richard Stevens & wife Lenora, Unicoi and Robert Stevens, Elizabethton. Two Sisters: Naomi LaFleur and Wilma Braswell both of Elizabethton. Four Grandchildren: Melissa Sifford & husband Shane, Adam Milhorn, Amber Nelson & husband Chris, Matthew Stevens & wife Terri. Five Great Grandchildren: Daniel, Hannah, Elijah, Isaiah, and Jeremiah and Step-Great-Granddaughter, Taylor McClain. Several nieces & nephews.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2018 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with her Grandson, Matthew Stevens officiating. Music will be provided by her great grandson: Daniel Sifford. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
