He was a native of Johnson City, and had lived in Piney Flats since his US Army discharge in 1981. He was a son of the late Edgar and Martha Broyles Edwards.
Eddie was of the Baptist Faith. He was the owner of Rosewood Plant Farm in Piney Flats for thirty years. He enjoyed camping, gardening, singing and playing his guitar. Eddie loved spending time in his barn and gathering with family and friends.
Eddie was a United States Army Veteran where he honorably served as a helicopter pilot. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Army Aviator Badge, and Expert Badge 38 Caliber Pistol. He loved sharing stories about his days flying the helicopter.
Other than his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Dillard and Christine Kinley; one brother-in-law, Chuck Kinley.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 20 years, Robin Kinley Edwards; three sons: Zachary Edwards and wife, Brooke, of Knoxville, Jacob Edwards and wife, Margo, of Nashville, Tim Mullins of Watauga; one daughter, Kelly D. Cooper and husband, Anthony, of Telford; one sister, Kay Jones and husband, David, of Johnson City; one aunt, Kathleen McCurry, of Jonesborough; two granddaughters: JoAnna Smith and Taylor Mullins, both of Telford; two great grandchildren; two brothers-in law: Danny Kinley and wife, Kathi, David Kinley and wife, Mary, both of Jonesborough; several nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
The family will attend a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
