She was preceded in death by her parents, Hussein Ahmed Faour Abulhosn and Jamillie Bashire Assid; husband, Adel Richani; two sisters; and three brothers.
Ratha was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She immigrated to America in 1949 from Lebanon, and lived in Bristol, TN her entire life. She operated the Dixie Café and went on to run the Dutch Grill, Downtown Restaurant, The Burger Bar and the Village Ice Cream Shop with her husband, Adel Richani. She was an accomplished seamstress and the alterations specialist at Nettie Lee’s Boutique.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Kassem Lindsey Tedrick and husband Volley; daughter Leila Richani Gounaris and husband Jim; son, Chuck Richani and fiancé Beth Taylor; grandchildren, Leila Lindsey Hubbard and husband Danny, Shawn Lindsey and wife Kammee, Sariah Lindsey Hopkins and husband Kevin, Dr. Adam Lindsey and wife Lisa, Gabriel Gounaris and Sydney Gounaris; great grandchildren, Savannah Hubbard Holmes and husband Dillon, Jacob and Ava Hubbard, Thomas, Owen, and Ethan Lindsey, and Graylin and Coleman Hopkins; one sister; one brother; and lifelong friends, Ratha and Ferris Shabeldeen.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home in Bristol, TN. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Scott Price officiating. The committal and entombment will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, VA.
