Wilma was a native of Knox County and lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Walter Franklin and Edna Whitehead Tippett. Wilma was a homemaker, of the Pentecostal faith, and was an avid Vols fan.
She loved and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and recently deceased husband, whom she missed terribly and is now reunited with in Heaven.
In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Campbell, in 2017, a son, Scotty Phipps, in 1991, a granddaughter, Michaela Phipps, and great-grandson, Joshua Johnson.
She is survived by her two children, Angela Presnell and husband Dwight, Johnson City, Randy Phipps and wife Debra, Spartanburg, SC; three step-children, Henry Campbell and wife Nicky, KY, Jennifer Ann Campbell and Julie Emiline Campbell, both of IL; ten grandchildren, Garrison Presnell, Sarah Presnell, Bethany McClellan, Zachary Phipps, Devin Jones, Baylee Phipps, Megan Chorvas, Michael Shaw, Katelynn Shaw and Pauley Shaw; six great-grandchildren, Na-Kel Johnson, Matthew Chorvas, Autumn Austin, Anthony Shaw, Anabella Salyers and Dustin Whitehead; and her loving dog, Max.
The funeral service will be conducted Thursday, May 10, 2018, at 7:00 P.M. , from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, with Dr. Matthew Young, officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service Thursday from 5:00-7:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
The graveside committal service will be held Friday at 10:00 A.M. in Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those planning to attend are requested to meet at the funeral home by 9:30 A.M. Friday to proceed to the cemetery.
