Betty was born in Avery County, NC to the late Charles and Clara Wise King.
She was of the Christian faith.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by: her husband of 54 years, Clarence W. Cannon, in 2007; one son, William Keith Cannon in 1999; a granddaughter, Jessica Robinson in 2016; one sister, Virginia Alvey; and one brother, Charles “Pug” King, Jr.
Survivors include: one son, Steve Cannon and his wife Rebecca; two daughters, Marcia Dressler and her husband Tom and Lisa Stewart; a very special niece, JoBeth Bulla and her husband Kenneth; two special nieces Shanna and Nicole; 11 grandchildren, Keith Jr., Chad, Luke, Jake, Rebecca, Melody, Josh, Jeremy, Jessica, Preston, and Amber; and several great grandchildren.
The family of Betty Cannon will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, May 4, 2018 at Morris-Baker. A memorial service will be held at Morris-Baker on Saturday at 10:00 am with Pastor Gary Whitehead officiating. A committal service will follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Betty’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Alfred King, Johnny Ray Estep and Norman Stevens will serve as honorary pallbearers.
