Jonesborough Scoop Fest Scoop Fest is returning to Tennessee's Oldest Town on Saturday, Aug.10 from 3 to 6 p.m. There will be 30+ flavors of ice cream to sample throughout Main Street shops and eateries, as well as several family-friendly activities. Ticket packs are available in increments of 15 tickets for $10. Each tasting will require one ticket.  Scoop Fest begins at 3 p.m. but ticket pickup will begin at 2 p.m. in front of the Courthouse. To purchase tickets or receive more info, go to www.jboscoopfest.com or call 423-753-1010.

Little Chicago Downtown Music and Arts Festival Little Chicago will be returning to downtown Johnson City. Live music begins Friday at 2 p.m. with 7 Mile Mushroom and Saturday at 12:30 with Sterling Springs. DJ Breese will close the festival with a block party at 9:15 p.m. Saturday. Lakeside Concert Series Winged Deer Park’s Lakeside Concert Series continues its 2019 season on Thursday with Barefoot Movement. Tri-Cities Jazz Orchestra will close the series on Aug. 15. The free lakeside concerts will be held 7-9 p.m. at Winged Deer Park’s Lakefront Festival Plaza Goulding Amphitheater. For more information on this series, call 423-283-5815.

Brews and Tunes and Music at the Square The Blue Birds will perform in downtown Jonesborough Sunday at 5 p.m. as part of the Main Street Brews and Tunes concert series. Tri-Cities Johnson City Community Concert Band will also perform at East Main Street’s Music on the Square in Jonesborough, Friday at 7 p.m.

Jonesborough’s Third Thursdays Main Street Jonesborough’s next Third Thursday will take place on Aug. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. Discover unique finds at the many shops, explore museums and grab dinner or a tasty treat from one of the eateries or confectionaries. This family-friendly and open-to-the-public event takes place on the third Thursday of every month from 5 to 8 p.m. throughout downtown Jonesborough.

Live music at Carter Family Fold in Hiltons Troublesome Hollow will perform along with Tim White and special guests Glen Harlow and Kevin Jackson, 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Admission to the show is $10 for adults, $2 for children 6 to 11, under age 6 free. Evening at the Market at the Kingsport Farmers Market Visit Kingsport, Downtown Kingsport Association and the Kingsport Farmers Market invite you to the Evening at the Market series, the second Thursday of each month from June through September. Shop from Farmers Market vendors, visit food vendors, grab a craft beer and enjoy an outdoor bluegrass concert. Musical performers for Thursday include Matlock & Company and Midnight Run Band. Evening market hours are 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The concert kicks off at 6 p.m.

"Trail of the Lonesome Pine" returns to Big Stone Gap Performances of the 56th season of "Trail of the Lonesome Pine," the official outdoor drama of Virginia, will be held at 8 p.m., Thursdays through Saturdays, through Aug. 24, at the June Tolliver Playhouse in Big Stone Gap. The box office opens at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 for Thursday performances; and $10-$15, weekends. Children under 6 are admitted free. Yoga in Johnson City Join others with the Downtown Yoga Center every Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Founders Park amphitheater for a free hour of yoga in the park. Those who wish to attend can just show up; no registration is required. Locals can also head to the Yee-Haw Brewing Company every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. for Yee-Haw Yoga.
