In the spotlight: The holidays in song

• The Civic Chorale presents a holiday concert Sunday at 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 105 S. Boone St. The program, “Celebration in Song” features works by Herbert Howells, Benjamin Britten, André Thomas, Mary McDonald, Ernani Aguiar, Norman Luboff, John Joubert. A suggested $10 donation will be collected at the door.


• Morningstar Flute Ensemble is gearing up for the holiday season with a special concert Sunday at 3 p.m. at First Broad Street United Methodist Church, 100 E. Broad St. A reception will follow the free public concert. 


• Join local singer-songwriters for cocoa and carols at Mockingbird Music Room and Gallery, 210 Spring St. #2, after the town’s lighted Christmas parade on Saturday. The event begins at about 7 p.m. 


• The most famous reindeer of all is coming to the Niswonger Performing Arts Center, 212 Tusculum Blvd., Tuesday at 7 p.m. Tickets to the show range from $30 to $40 for a stage production of the longest-running holiday television special. Visit NPACgreeneville.com or call 638-1679 for tickets.
