Bristol Dragway announces 2020 schedule

Bristol Dragway released its 2020 schedule Thursday with the 20th annual NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals set for Father’s Day weekend, June 19-21.

For the first time ever, all five NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series pro classes — Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, Pro Mod and Pro Stock Motorcycle — will compete at the historic drag strip. Single day tickets start at $25.

Other marquee events include the Bristol Chevy Show and Beef O’Brady’s Thunder Valley Mayhem on Aug. 21-23 and the ALABAMA performs at the Thunder Valley Amphitheatre on Aug. 8.

The DER Bracket Racing Series returns for an 11th season with categories ranging from Super Pro to Junior Dragsters. The popular Street Fights Saturday Nights return for five Saturdays with enthusiasts going down the strip in street-legal rides.

The Huddleston Performance Jr. Dragster Nationals and the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing Eastern Conference Finals return in July. The World Footbrake Challenge has two events on July 2-5 and Sept. 3-6. The Fall Fling which brings the best Super Pro racers in the country competing for big money is scheduled for Oct. 3.

For those who want the feeling of racing a dragster down the famed track, the Pure Speed Racing Experience will visit Sunday, June 7. Participants can take control of a dragster or take the ride of a lifetime in a two-seat dragster.
