Monster Trucks will invade Bristol Motor Speedway this Saturday, while the CARS Tour comes to Kingsport Speedway.

Beef O'Brady's Monster Truck Madness features some of the biggest name trucks in the business. Some of the Monster Trucks entered in the event include Bigfoot, Jester, Stone Crusher and Nitro Hornet.

Always a favorite of the kids, the big trucks fly through the air before landing, often driving over and crushing cars.

The trucks will race around a Bristol Motor Speedway infield course for two qualifying rounds. Racing eliminations will begin after qualifying until a champion is crowned. After that comes the freestyle competition, where the drivers perform stunts for the crowd.

A fan-friendly event, drivers are available for autographs and photos during a pre-event pit party on the backstretch.

Gates open at 5 p.m. for the pit party with fans having the opportunity to purchase $10 tickets for a ride in the Sasquatch monster bus. Beef O' Brady's will provide balloons and coupons for a free kids meal, redeemable the following Tuesday. Qualifying starts at 7:30 p.m. with exhibitions for the East Tennessee Drift and the Team FMX acrobatic motocross team.

The CARS Tour for Late Model Stock cars will come to Kingsport Speedway this Saturday for the Food Country 125.

It will be single-car qualifying followed by a 100-lap Late Model feature. There are also 30-lap features for the Modified Street and Pure 4 divisions scheduled.

Grandstand gates open at 4 p.m. Late Model qualifying is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with a fan fest on the track at 6 p.m. The Late Model race is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

STREET OUTLAWS TO RETURN

Bristol Dragway announced Monday that the popular Street Outlaws will be returning to Thunder Valley on Tuesday, Aug. 21.

The Discovery Channel show's biggest stars — Big Chief, Murder Nova, AZN and Farm Truck — along with 22 street racers from around the country will compete for a winner-take-all $200,000, making it the largest payout in no (track) prep history.

They will be filming for a show to air in 2019.

OTHER DRAG RACING

Cody Barnhart from Culllman, Ala., won Saturday's $10,000-to-win BTE World Footbrake Challenge at Bristol Dragway.

It was followed with a special Gambler's Race which Rodney Finchum beat his son Jake in the final round. Rain caused the cancelation of Friday's race.

Cherokee Raceway Park in Rogersville had its weekly IHRA Summit SuperSeries program on Saturday. This weekend, the track hosts a special Mopar vs. Ford event. There will be a Saturday race open to all makes with gates opening at 3 p.m. and a special Ford vs. Mopar only race on Sunday with gates opening at noon.
