To better serve homeless veterans in the community, the Mountain Home VA Healthcare System is hosting a Veterans Stand Down to benefit veterans who are homeless or at risk of being homeless.

On Oct. 6 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m., personnel with Mountain Home will be at Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, 201 E. Market St., providing information on substance abuse counseling, employment and training, housing and legal resources, dental and medical care, free haircuts and food.

The Tri-Cities Military Affairs Council and the Appalachian Regional Coalition on Homelessness join Mountain Home in sponsoring the event.
