Erwin BMA Workshop: The Erwin Board of Mayor and Aldermen will hold a budget workshop Thursday, June 14, at 3 p.m. in the meeting room at Erwin City Hall, 211 N. Main Ave. Anyone who wishes to attend and needs special accommodations or has any questions, call 423-743-6231.

Southern Countrymen Band: The Southern Countrymen Band will play at the Buffalo Ruritan, 200 Willowbrook Road, Bluff City, on June 16. The event will be from 7-10 p.m. and admission is $6.

Flag Day: The Johnson National Historic Site will present a Flag Day Program and Retirement on Thursday, June 14, at 6 p.m. The program will be presented at the Andrew Johnson National Cemetery, 121 Monument Ave., Greeneville. The historic site encourages visitors of all ages, especially Scouts and other youth organizations from the community to attend this program. Fish Fry: The Limestone Ruritan will host an all-you-can-eat fish fry on Friday, June 15, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Limestone Ruritan Club, 121 Limestone Ruritan Road, Limestone. The meal is $12 per person and church groups are welcome.

Horse Show: The East Tennessee Walking Horse Classic Horse Show will be held at the South Central Ruritan Park, Tenn. Highway 107, Chuckey on Saturday, June 16.The show will begin at 5 p.m. and admission will be $5. Children 12 and under are free. All proceeds will benefit the American Legion Honor Guard, an organization that provided the cost for military ceremony funerals. For more information, call 423-782-6581.

Barter Days: Barter Theatre’s Barter Days are back. On June 13-15, Feeding America Southwest Virginia will partner with Barter to allow patrons an opportunity to see shows at no cost while also helping the community by trading canned and dried goods for admission to certain shows. “Barter” performances will include “Steel Magnolias” on Wednesday, June 13, at 7:30 p.m.; “The Lemonade Stand” on Thursday, June 14, at 7:30 p.m.; and “Billy, Goat, Gruff: The Musical” on Friday, June 15, at 10 a.m. Each show is deemed appropriate for attendance by all ages. On “Barter Days” no advanced reservations can be made for tickets that will be purchased with goods. Tickets are distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis with a limited number of seats available. Sycamore Shoals events: Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park will present a variety of programs during the month of June. Auditions: Jonesborough Repertory Theatre will hold auditions for its upcoming production of “The Fantastiks” June 17-18 at 7 nightly at the theatre at 125 W. Main St., Jonesborough. The cast is made up of men and women ages 16 and up.
