Johnson City Schools band concert: The band programs from Science Hill, Liberty Bell and Indian Trail will combine for a one-night performance tonight at 7 inside Freedom Hall. The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, visit www.jcschools.org.

Willow Tree Coffeehouse and Music Room Open Mic: In addition to a lineup of live music events, Johnson City’s Willow Tree Coffeehouse and Music Room hosts its Open Mic Night every Wednesday at 6 p.m., allowing “aspiring artists of all kinds to share their magic with a beautiful audience of respectful listeners.” For more information on this and other live Willow Tree events, visit www.facebook.com/willowcoffeehouse.

McLain Family Band: The McLain Family Band will be at Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church, 136 East Main St., Abingdon. The concert will begin Sunday at 3 p.m. General public tickets are $10, area students are admitted free.

Art Studio Programs at Hands-On!: Join Hands-On! Discovery Center until March 29 for a wax-resist watercolor Starry Night inspired paintings, Dr. Seuss inspired optical illusion line art drawings and a Piet Mondrian inspired collage in the Art Studio. McKinney Center Zen Drawing: The McKinney Center will host an art event titled “Intro to Zentangle” on Saturday, March 14 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This one session of the Zentangle Method of Art will get you on your way with the fun and relaxing “Zen”-focussed method of drawing. The cost is $55.

Let’s Make a TV Show: The McKinney Center will host “Let’s Make a TV Show,” beginning Tuesday. Through this course, students will learn to film, storyboard a script, and operate a high-definition camera while also learning the basics of acting for television.
