Spring Recital: The East Tennessee State University Department of Music continues its spring 2019 concert season with David Kovac and Friends on Saturday, March 7, at 7:30 p.m. at Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church. In this concert, Dr. David Kovac, ETSU assistant professor of strings, will perform in a free viola recital featuring a variety of works performed with other ETSU faculty. ETSU “Carnival for a Cause”: ETSU will host a “Carnival for a Cause” to benefit Crumley House, a local nonprofit brain injury rehabilitation center. This event kicks off Brain Injury Awareness Month. The event will be held Saturday, March 7, from 1-4 p.m. at the field next to ETSU’s Wayne G. Basler Center for Physical Activity. In the case of inclement weather, the carnival will be moved indoors to the ETSU CPA basketball courts. Tickets valued at $1 or $5 will be available to purchase at the event.

Book Fair: The Kingsport Book Fair, featuring printed books, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs and vinyl record albums, returns to the Civic Auditorium March 5-8. Regular fair hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday, and 12:45 to 5 p.m., Sunday. Admission is free those three days. Thousands of items available for purchase. Art Studio Programs at Hands-On!: Join Hands-On! Discovery Center until March 29 for a wax-resist watercolor Starry Night inspired paintings, Dr. Seuss inspired optical illusion line art drawings and a Piet Mondrian inspired collage in the Art Studio. Natural Tunnel State Park Hike: Natural Tunnel State Park will host a free Full Moon Hike March 9 at 7 p.m. This 1.2-mile hike will take place along a semi-moderated trail.
