Jonesborough’s Christmas Church Tour coming up

Contributed • Dec 19, 2019 at 9:47 AM

Jonesborough wraps up its Christmas in Olde Jonesborough series this Saturday, Dec. 21, with the Christmas Church Tour. Stroll through the historic district and step inside some of the town’s most beloved buildings, its churches.

Four churches are on the tour: Central Christian Church, First Baptist Church, Jonesborough Presbyterian and Jonesborough United Methodist.

The churches will each showcase their beautiful sanctuaries, all decorated for the Christmas season. They will also be offering music provided by their choirs, a handbell performance, refreshments and more. If you want to learn about the history of the buildings, each church will also offer a guide at each church to give you the history. The stroll is scheduled from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and you can pick up a schedule of activities at the International Storytelling Center.

Santa will be downtown during this time as well and this will be his last appearance in Jonesborough this Christmas season. The Christmas Market will also be set-up on the Plaza in front of the Storytelling Center, offering wonderful, handmade gift items such as jewelry, crafts and more. The event will offer free gift wrapping on all purchases made downtown during this time inside the Storytelling Center.
