Brews and Tunes and Music at the Square Bill and the Belles will perform in downtown Jonesborough Sunday at 5 p.m. as part of the Main Street Brews and Tunes concert series. Bob Sinclair and the Big Deals will also perform at East Main Street’s Music on the Square in Jonesborough, Friday at 7 p.m.

"Trail of the Lonesome Pine" returns to Big Stone Gap Performances of the 56th season of "Trail of the Lonesome Pine," the official outdoor drama of Virginia, will be held at 8 p.m., Thursdays through Saturdays, through Aug. 24, at the June Tolliver Playhouse in Big Stone Gap. The box office opens at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 for Thursday performances; and $10-$15, weekends. Children under 6 are admitted free. Children’s choirs to hold auditions Auditions for the East Tennessee Children’s Choir will be held Monday, Aug. 19, between 4 and 5:30 p.m. at Munsey Memorial Church. Auditions for membership in the Emory Virginia Children’s Choir will be held Thursday, August 22, 4-5:30 p.m. at the chapel on the campus of Emory and Henry College. Children who are in grades 4 and up may audition for either choir. Auditions take about 25 minutes and are conducted on a first-come basis. Children in grades 1-3 may register at the same times on the same dates for the Choristers: 4-5:30 p.m. at Munsey or at Emory and Henry Chapel. 

Willow Tree Coffeehouse and Music Room Downtown Abby and the Echoes will perform Friday at 8 p.m., followed by My One and Only with the Bittersweets Saturday at 8 p.m. In addition to live music throughout the week, Willow Tree also hosts its Open Mic Night every Wednesday at 6 p.m., allowing “aspiring artists of all kinds to share their magic with a beautiful audience of respectful listeners.” For more information on Willow Tree events, visit www.facebook.com/willowcoffeehouse

Live Music in Bristol Blackbird Bakery, located at 56 Piedmont Ave. will host Gerald Sheppard, Thursday at 8 p.m. and Anthoney Mangrum, Saturday at 8 p.m. Bloom Cafe and Listening Room, located at 606 State St., Bristol will host Hannah Kaminer, Bailey George and Jukebox Jess, Thursday at 7:30 p.m.; and House Cat, Inside Voices, Mahto and the Loose Balloons, Friday at 8 p.m.

Jonesborough’s Third Thursdays Main Street Jonesborough’s Third Thursday will take place on Thursday, Aug. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. Discover unique finds at the many shops, explore museums and grab dinner or a tasty treat from one of the eateries or confectionaries. This family-friendly and open-to-the-public event takes place on the third Thursday of every month from 5 to 8 p.m. throughout downtown Jonesborough.

Lakeside Concert Series Winged Deer Park’s Lakeside Concert Series continues its 2019 season on Thursday with Tri-Cities Jazz Orchestra, who will close the series at the Aug. 15 concert. The free lakeside concert will be held 7-9 p.m. at Winged Deer Park’s Lakefront Festival Plaza Goulding Amphitheater. For more information, call 423-283-5815.

Yoga in Johnson City Join others with the Downtown Yoga Center every Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Founders Park amphitheater for a free hour of yoga in the park. Those who wish to attend can just show up; no registration is required. Locals can also head to the Yee-Haw Brewing Company every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. for Yee-Haw Yoga.
