Bert Street Music series Johnson City’s Memorial Park Community Center’s outdoor amphitheater will continue its free, four-concert series featuring a mix of seasoned performers. Billy Crawford Band will perform Tuesday at 7 p.m.  

Lakeside Concert Series continues Winged Deer Park’s Lakeside Concert Series continues the 2019 season on Thursday, July 25 with Jae Marie Project. The free lakeside concerts will be held 7-9 p.m. each Thursday through Aug. 8 at Winged Deer Park’s Lakefront Festival Plaza Goulding Amphitheater, 199 Carroll Creek Road, Johnson City. Symphony of the Mountains begins "A Magical Journey" Three outdoor concerts kick off the 2019-2020 season for Symphony of the Mountains. "Our Gift to You: A Magical Journey" featuring soloist Carla Karst takes place at 7:30 p.m., Friday at Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock, N.C. Tickets are $40-50. A second performance will be held Saturday at 8:15 p.m. at the University of Virginia's College at Wise. Admission is free. The final performance will be held at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, at Allandale Mansion Amphitheater in Kingsport. Tickets are $15-20. Visit www.symphonyofthemountains.org

Live Music Downtown Johnson City Capone’s will host Tennessee Jet and Josh Morningstar, Friday at 7 p.m. and The Dimestore Cowboys with The Brothers Gillespie and Sammy Guns, Saturday at 9 p.m. The Down Home will host Jacob Reece Thorton, Thursday at 7:30 p.m.; Rebecca Lee Daniels, Friday at 8 p.m.;  Jen Allen and the Tennessee Zip, Saturday at 8 p.m.; and JD McPherson, Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The Hideaway will feature Doctor Ocular and the Settlement, Thursday at 9 p.m.; Mag Ursa, Ghoulgasm and Poverty Bomb, Friday at 10 p.m.; and Wailin’ Storms, Nerve Endings and Aghori Skin Suit, Saturday 11 p.m. 

Founders Reading Party The Johnson City Public Library will host its Summer Reading Block Party at Founders Park, Thursday at 6 p.m. The event will feature inflatables, food trucks, music and lawn games. Summer Reading grand prize winners will also be announced.

Founders After 5 On Friday at 6 p.m., Jubal will be performing at Founders Park during the Founders After 5 concert series. The free 2019 concert series featuring various acts began May 10 and will continue Friday evenings until Sept. 27. Pickin’ in the Park The Natural Tunnel State Park Amphitheater in Duffield will continue its Pickin’ in the Park: Music in the Mountains concert series Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. The Childress Family Band is this week’s featured act. 

Dancing at the Outdoorsmen The Outdoorsmen, located at 4535 Highway 11 W, Blountville, will host Cross Road Band from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday. The event will feature free line dance and couples lessons from 6 to 7 p.m. and during the break. Food and refreshments available, and the event will cost $6.

Barefoot in the Park at Founders Relax and join others every Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Founders Park amphitheater for a free hour of yoga in the park. Those who wish to attend can just show up; no registration is required.
